Twelfth Judicial District

Cloud County is part of the Kansas 12th Judicial District with Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Republic, and Washington counties. A Kansas Judicial Branch December 20, 2024 release explained a recent local change in the 12th Judicial District.

The release said Administrative Order 2024-JA-096 converted the Cloud County district magistrate judge position number 1 into new district judge division number 2 in Cloud County, with the vacancy created January 1, 2025. A later Governor Kelly announcement appointed Jennifer O'Hare of Lincoln to the new judgeship.

Appeals and Record Access

District Court judgments generally appeal to the Kansas Court of Appeals. Some matters go directly to the Kansas Supreme Court by statute or further review.
